A large group of sheet music, including many Black Americana and minstrel tunes. Late 19th/early 20th century. Folios. Includes cake walks, ballads, ragtime, minstrel songs, marches, and other compositions. Approximately 700 pieces of American sheet music, with approximately 200 pieces of sheet music relating to African Americans and minstrel tunes, with many covers depicting white performers in blackface and racist caricatures of African Americans. Includes some earlier (mid-19th century) compositions. Overall condition, fair. Many with detached covers and chipped edges. Should be examined.
