[AFRICAN-AMERICANA]. Group of 6 Plaster or Ceramic Figurines, including: a pair of matching dolls in clothes and with hair; a boy and a girl. Dolls have painted plaster bodies and wooden arms. Dolls 7? long. Dolls housed in original (?) box, lacking lid. Some rubbing to dolls, box worn. Very good. And: ?This Is What I Like About the South? painted plaster ashtray. Ashtray with a figurine of a small boy eating watermelon. 5? high. Worn, with paint loss, some occasional chipping to watermelon. Fair. And: pincushion with a small painted figure. Small painted figure of an African-American child, glued onto a small pincushion, both of which are glued to a small wooden base. 2 ?? high. Worn, soiled, some glue residue. Good. And: porcelain bell in the shape of a cook. [Japan, n.d.] Painted porcelain of a liveried female cook. 4 ?? high. Minor rubbing, else fine. And: painted plaster statuette of a Catholic priest of African descent. [Italy: Columbia Statuary, n.d.] Statuette depicts a priest with a serene visage, in robes clutching a cross. 8 ?? high. Some chipping, wear. Good.
