Campbell of this city, for and in consideration of the sum of Fourteen Hundred thirty five [? - partially obscured due to a small hole] Dollars, to me paid by John Schen of New Orleans the receipt whereof I herby acknowledge, do bargain, sell, convey, transfer and deliver unto the said John Schen a negro boy called [?] Lancaster aged fifteen years. Said negro I warrant to be free from the vices [?] and maladies prescribed by the Laws of Louisiana and to be a Slave for life..." Signed and dated below by Campbell.
