American Club #165 Border Index Playing Cards. Cincinnati: Paper Fabrique Company, ca. 1878. 52 (lacks Joker). Several cards with small chips to corners; faces rubbed and lightly soiled. Courts depict European royalty of the period. The ?border index? design was patented Dec. 25, 1877 by Cyrus Saladee, who also patented an 1864 deck produced by Samuel Hart. Good. Hochman L14.
