Dated September 5, 1854, Anderson writes in his own hand on two-color embossed letterhead bearing the royal coat of arms surrounded by text heralding his command performance at Balmoral in 1849; the letter states that Anderson is honored to fulfill the request of the addressee for his autograph to be ?placed amongst your collection of great mens signatures.? Boldly signed ?John Henry Anderson/Great Wizard of the North.? 7 ? x 4 3/8?. Newspaper clipping regarding Anderson and Dr. Cumming, dated Sept. 20, 1854, affixed to verso. Rare. One of but a few Anderson autographs offered at auction in the last five decades.
