Annemann, Theo. Annemann ?The Jinx? Subscriber Letter, Postcard, and Flyer. Four pieces, including a typed letter, signed ?Ted?, to a friend named Jules; a Jinx subscriber postcard; advertising flyer; and the booklet Annemann Card Miralces (1944). Annemann devised an amazing method to retain magazine subscribers. With the supplied postcard, one needed only to stroke the black cat?s back three times and return the postcard by mail?no address, postage, money, or signature was required to identify the renewal. How Annemann managed this feat has remained a subject of speculation ever since.
