London, 1846. 2 volumes, large folio. 2 frontispieces, 2 additional lithographic pictorial titles, 46 plates (mostly hand?colored including several folding and double?page plates), numerous in?text illustrations (moderate marginal foxing). Unbound, loosely housed in folding cloth chemise; together housed in a cloth slipcase with morocco spine label gilt. FIRST EDITION with examples by Albrecht Durer and numerous examples of painted and stained glass.
