In publisher's full color wrap-around cover and slipcase (slipcase covered with an additional woodcut, xylographic label). FIRST EDITION THUS, ONE OF ONLY TEN COPIES SIGNED ("9/10") BY FRASCONI ON HOSHO AND ARCHES PAPER WITH BROWN HOSHO ENDLEAVES. 

Earth tones represent the Native Americans, contrasting with nighttime colors of deep purple, black and silver. Frasconi's books are overprinted, adding layer upon layer of color, giving the prints a three-dimensional quality. Frasconi was one of the most prominent woodcut artists of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, winning a Guggenheim Fellowship in 1952, as well as many other accolades.
