Barnum, P.T. Autograph Letter Signed. Bridgeport, Connecticut: February 2nd, 1855. Early personal letter canceling an engagement. Together with a hand-colored engraving with printed signature, engraved by Geo. W. Perine, New York. Letter measures 6 ½ x 8 ½”, portrait is 8 x 4 ½”. Both have tape on back from previous attachment, portrait paper has some soiling in left margin lightly affecting image.
