[AVIATION]. Flown Cloth Fragment of the Br?guet 19 Super Bidon Aircraft, ?Point d'Interrogation" [?Question Mark"], the First Fixed Wing Nonstop Flight from Paris to New York City. [Paris, 1930]. Partially painted fabric (in red) strip from the famous modified Br?guet 19, nicknamed the ?Question Mark" (so-called due to the fact that one of the flight's sponsors, The Coty Fragrance Company, was anonymous at the time). Approximately 11 x 2 ?". Some edgewear, soiling. Fine. With the manuscript authentication on the verso of Charles Dolfus, director of the Mus?e de l'Air in Paris. Flown by two French pilots, Diudon?e Coste and Maurice Bellonte, this plane set two early distance nonstop records, the first from Paris to Moullart in 1929 (7,905 km.) and the second, Paris to New York City (6,200 km., the first nonstop east-west Atlantic flight by a fixed wing aircraft).
