[BASEBALL] Chicago Cubs / Brooklyn Dodgers / New York Giants Press Photograph Archive. 1952–1956. Group of approximately 18 vintage black-and-white and a few color press and candid photographs documenting Major League Baseball players and related scenes in the early to mid-1950s, with a strong concentration on Chicago Cubs personnel including pitcher Paul Minner and teammates. The archive includes game-action press images with Acme Newspictures and United Press captions (including a June 5, 1953 Cubs vs. Dodgers play at second base, and an August 26 Giants play at the plate), as well as clubhouse, dugout, and off-field scenes. Several images depict Cubs players in uniform interacting with children, relaxing in locker rooms, or receiving medical treatment, including a United Press photograph dated June 28, 1956, referencing Minner and Ted Tappe at Illinois Masonic Hospital. Additional photographs show Brooklyn Dodgers players in uniform (including a tall player in a “B” cap, likely in a minor or spring training context), travel scenes with players carrying luggage, and informal group portraits. One color snapshot captures players socializing at a bar, likely mid-1950s. Versos retain period press stamps, typed captions, editorial markings, and handwritten notes. A cohesive mid-century baseball photo archive combining press-wire imagery with informal behind-the-scenes views, offering strong documentary value of Cubs players and National League activity during the period.

Sizes vary, generally 7 x 9" to 8 x 10".
