BLACKSTONE, HARRY SR. (HENRY BOUGHTON). BLACKSTONE?S WALKING THROUGH A RIBBON ILLUSION. Circa 1940. Wooden cabinet stands on four curved legs. A woman stands inside, and a ribbon is inserted through holes running through the sides of the framework. The front doors are closed and the ends of the ribbon are held by spectators. Even so, the assistant walks through the ribbon and out of the cabinet, passing through it mysteriously. Approximately 43 x 18 x 16 ??. Hand painted in gold with butterfly motif. Includes a letter of provenance tracing the ownership of the cabinet.
