Group of at least 7 hairs, contained in a small hand-made folded envelope with wax seal with the following note: ?chevaux de Napoleon [?] par moi ? longwood?? Signed by Las Cases. Hairs are various sizes around 1? or so. Envelope is approximately 3 ? x 2 ?? when folded. Two other hairs are in a small plastic envelope with an older printed catalog description ?Napoleon Bonaparte - A lock of his hair given to by Sir Hudson Lowe (Governor of St. Helena and Custodian of Napoleon) to Mrs. Kingsley (wife of Rev. Charles Kingsley, author of ?Westward Ho!?)?.
