The art writer Miranda McClintoc wrote: ?Phyllis Bramson?s imaginative portrayals of stereotypical sexual relationships incorporate the passionate complexity of eastern mythology, the sexual innuendos of soap operas and sometimes the happy endings of cartoons.? This is a solid example of her mid-career work. Bramson is a recipient of three National Endowments, a Senior Fulbight Scholar, a Louis Comfort Tiffany Grant, a Guggenheim Fellowship, a Rockefeller Foundation Grant, and a 2009 Anonymous Was a Woman Award. Over thirty one-person exhibitions, including The New Museum of Contemporary Art, New York, The Chicago Cultural Center and the Renaissance Society at the University of Chicago among many others. Not examined out of frame. Free sheet hinged. Pinholes upper corners. Ripples in paper inherent. Water stain lower edge verso of frame. Stain visible on linen lower right inside frame.
