Buckley, Arthur. Buckley. The Man Who Knows. [Australia], ca. 1915. Imposing half-length portrait poster picturing Buckley in a turban adorned with a feather, on a green background. He stares intently at the viewer. 40 x 87". Over-coloring at old folds, tears, and in margins; B. The only known example of this poster. Best-remembered today as a manipulative and close-up magician who authored three important books on magic, Arthur Buckley first rose to prominence in his native Australia as a mind reader. Together with his wife, Helene, he presented a two-person code act. Later, after settling in Chicago, he became an engineer, but always maintained his love of sleight-of-hand.
