Vought, Paul. Bugs Bunny "Carmen Bugs" Ceramic Tile. Warner Bros./Imagine Design, 1994. Number 20 from an edition of 100. Signed and numbered in gold ink by the artist. Inspired by the 1944 cartoon episode "What's Cookin' Doc?" in which Bugs demands a vote recount when he is beaten out for an Academy Award by James Cagney, and depicting him striking a Carmen Miranda pose. Fired ceramic clay tile created by the 'Catalina' method introduced in California in the 1930s and employed with perfection here by Vought. Artist's COA signed and numbered. 11 _ x 11 _". Original black frame. Fine.
