BUNKER, Chang and Eng (1811?74). WHITTOCK, N[athaniel] (1791?1860).?CHANG-ENG. THE SIAMESE TWINS.?London: McCormick, [1829]. Delicately hand-colored lithograph of the famous united twins as young men depicted in three scenes, playing badminton (a shuttlecock flies overhead, and the boys hold rackets in their hands), contemplating a game of backgammon, and shaking hands with other young men. In the center-most vignette, the joined nature of their flesh is on full display. 8 ? 10 5/8". Cropped close to double-rule border, with evidence of prior mounting at corners, else a very fine example. A passage from?A Midsummer Night?s Dream?is reproduced below the title of the print: ?Seeming parted, But yet an union in partition.?
