[i], some minor occasional soiling in text; small tape repair to jacket verso at spine, jacket spine a bit toned, some edgewear, soiling to jacket). Near fine.FIRST TRADE EDITION, THE ?FIRST EDITION CIRCLE" EDITION WITH AN INSERTED LEAF SIGNED BY CAPOTE; ON THIS SIGNED LEAF IS A TAPED CARD SIGNED BY JIM POST, THE PRISON CHAPLAIN AT LANSING CORRECTIONAL FACILITY, WHERE PERRY SMITH AND RICHARD HICKCOCK WERE HELD. This card states: ?Jim Post Prison Chaplain KSP". The Rev. Jim Post served at Lansing Correctional for 30 years and witnessed the execution of Smith and Hickcock; before his execution, Smith gave the original watercolors he had painted to Rev. Post. Post was portrayed by actor Sheldon Allman in the 1967 film directed by Richard Brooks. An excellent association.Measurements: 10"L x 8"W x 2"H.
