[CAPRA, Frank (1897?1991), his copy]. The Holy Bible. Circa 1950. 8vo. Original publisher?s pictorial limp faux?leather, yapp edges, all edges gilt. Family Circle Edition. FRANK CAPRA?S COPY gifted by Peter Graves (?Jim Phelps?) and annotated with a lengthy bible verse in manuscript in his hand. Graves, a devout Christian, was an American actor who starred in the Mission: Impossible series from 1967 to 1973 as Jim Phelps, the director of the Impossible Missions Force. Capra, an academy award winning director and also a devout Christian, used his faith and biblical principles in the movies he directed, most notably in Meet John Doe (1941) and It?s a Wonderful Life (1946).
