Many reinforced with old cellotape.The primary means of advertising the performances of Chautauqua and Lyceum performers in the first three decades of the twentieth centuries were these elaborate ?folders,? as they were often referred to. Later generations of performers used them to book shows in schools and other venues, but these purveyors of uplifting and ?moral? entertainment paved the way for all those who followed.
