Quarter gilt morocco, bound for the magician Erix (Marcel Laureau) (small bookplate design stamped to upper), marbled sides, with the orig. wrappers retained. With a signed letter from the author tipped-in (27 March 1945); inscribed and signed to Laureau by the author on the limitation leaf. Tipped-in facsimile of Robert-Houdin?s carte de visite; folding genealogical plate; plates and illustrations. Folding advertisement for the volume tipped-in at rear. Limited edition, number 356 of 450 copies. Several losses at lower joint, but overall an attractive association copy.
