[CHICAGO]. Iroquois Theatre Souvenir Programme. Chicago: Press of Rand, McNally & Co., 1903 (cover stamped November 23, 1903). 8vo. With illustrations and halftone photographs, several full-page, on semi-gloss paper, one in color, and including an illustration the theater?s fa?ade. Brick cloth stamped in gilt, a.e.g. Marginal tear to one leaf not affecting text; some dog-earing. Laid inside is a heavily worn program for ?Mr. Blue Beard? (week of Dec 7, 1903), the production which was playing when the Iroquois Theatre caught fire. This volume was published only a month before the disastrous fire at the theater which claimed over 600 lives on December 30, 1903. The book promotes the Benjamin Marshall-designed theater as the ?most beautiful temple? of drama in the city, highlighting its prime location and elegant architecture.
