[Children’s Literature. OZ] Thompson, Ruth Plumly. Speedy in Oz. Chicago: Reilly & Lee, 1934. 4to. Original olive green cloth with pictorial pastedown. Pictorial dust jacket. First Edition, First Printing, First State Dust Jacket. Complete with 12 color plates (all later editions were issued in black and white), endpapers in black and white. Semi-script imprint Reilly & Lee at base of spine. Dust jacket is variant 1 according to Bienvenue with both front and back flaps listing titles to “26 Ojo in Oz” and was issued earlier than variant 2 which lists 27 titles to “Speedy.” Lightly toned pages, free of marks save owner inscription on “This book belongs to” page. Light offsetting to endpapers. Cloth faded. A few large chips to dust jacket. Ref: Bienvenue & Schmidt, p. 116.
