Approximately 200 prints (and one glass negative) documenting circus poster art, some annotated with printer?s notations (number of sheets, inventory numbers). Size generally 5 x 8? and smaller. This archive documents scores of different posters and acts with Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey, Al G. Barnes, Hagenbeck-Wallace, Sells-Floto, Christy Bros., and other leading circuses of the early 20th century. Among the posters shown are rare and large, billboard-size posters which may only survive in these photographs, as well as preliminary sketches and possibly unproduced poster art from the Golden Age of the circus.
