Fine. FIRST EDITION OF THIS SCARCE HISTORY BY CHAMBERLAIN IN THE VIRTUALLY UNOBTAINABLE ORIGINAL DUST JACKET. This book was posthumously published by Putnam (who wrote the biographical note). This important memoir by Chamberlain relates his experiences at the Battle of Five Forks, the Battle of Appomattox, and, most famously, Gettysburg. This memoir also recounts the Confederate surrender at Appomattox, where Chamberlain led the ceremony. Chamberlain won the Medal of Honor, and his bravery and leadership was recounted by Michael Shaara in his book, The Killer Angels (1974), and the film Gettysburg (1993).
