Coin Vanishing Box. Los Angeles: F.G. Thayer, ca. 1930. Finely turned hardwood box in which coins vanish, change, or are produced when the lid is placed on top and then removed again. Mahogany. Diameter of base 2". Fine. Though offered as an inexpensive pocket trick in Thayer's catalogs, the truly fine quality of this box is a prime example of Floyd Thayer's prowess as a master wood turner.
