COLLINS, Stanley (1881 ? 1966). Archive of Stanley Collins Magic Correspondence. 1900s ? 70s. Approximately 200 letters written to both Stanley Collins and his wife Margaret, the letters relate to nearly every aspect of Collins life and career, and also to the disposition of his famous magic collection after his death. Included in the former grouping are letters from Paul Fleming to Collins regarding all matters, but specifically related to the publication of Collins' last book, A Conjuring M?lange, which Fleming would release. Other correspondents to Collins include John Braun, Robert Byron, Robertson Keene, Robert Orben, George Johnson, Tarbell, Eddie Joseph, Dr. Jacob Daley, Peter Warlock, Walter Gibson, John Ramsay, Newmann (partial), John Mulholland, Kurt Volkmann, Earl Rybolt, S.H. Sharpe, Chris Charlton, Clement de Lion and dozens more. Regarding his collection, files of letters from F.W. Keuthe, Carl Waring Jones, and Robert Lund are included. Notes and ephemera typed or handwritten or collected by Collins are also included. All neatly organized in file folders in a single box file. A fascinating and revealing group of letters regarding the life, career, and collection of this well-respected magician including multi-page letters of great interest from many of his famous and well-respected peers.
