This heroic bust, by far the most sought of this artist?s output, is the largest and rarest in his series. Approximately 23? high and 14? wide. The bronze is finished in the brown French patina of the era, and features Napoleon?s commanding head framed by the collar of his ?Ridingcoat? and bicorne hat. The base has an Imperial Eagle with outstretched wings and below, a brass plaque with the inscription ?NAPOLEON 1er 1812 par Colombo?. The right side arm is signed ?Colombo 1885?.
