Illustrated with hand-colored frontispiece and numerous black and white plates, captioned tissue guards. 238 pp. Front wrapper bound-in. Bound in contemporary three-quarter red levant morocco over marbled boards, spine lettered in gilt, five raised bands, top edge gilt, marbled endleaves (light wear to spine and board-edges, some mild occasional soiling to binding, text and plates foxed, tissue guard facing frontispiece is torn). Near fine. FIRST EDITION (presumed trade edition, as there is no limitation leaf present, with American-issued half-title with American copyright notice on verso).
