Illustrated with hand-tinted photographs of French military headgear (3 per issue, loose as issued) and several hand-colored intertextual illustrations. 12 consecutive issues, #1 - 12, April 1909-March 1910 (out of a complete run of 42 issues). Original wrappers (some wear, soiling, a few tears, some toning to wrappers and some text pages, each front wrapper inkstamped (?Printed in France?). Near fine. FIRST EDITIONS. Housed in contemporary half pebbled morocco portfolio lettered in gilt on spine (worn, soiled, bookseller?s ticket of Julius Wisotzki and with the bookplate of Henri Macqueron). Although it is possible to find one or two issues of this handsome publication, it is quite uncommon to find a collection of them.
