[CONFEDERATE STATES OF AMERICA BONDS]. Loan certificate (No. 894) for the Confederate States of America, complete with all 26 Confederate treasury notes. N.p.: August 19, 1861. Printed on white paper, and printed in black (some soiling, foxing and toning, some ink initials by various bureaucrats partially obscured, document wrinkled). This $500 loan was approved by the Confederate Congress on August 19, 1861 and was to yield 8% interest. The certificate is signed by Robert Taylor (1816-1877), Confederate Register of the Treasury. Folio (410 x 349 mm). The maturity date of these treasury notes is July 1, 1875. Beautifully matted, framed and glazed. Not examined out of frame; frame size: 585 x 522 mm.
