[WITH]: The Diary of a Drug Fiend. New York: Gordon Press, 1974. 4to. Red cloth stamped gilt.
A scarce collection of 14 volumes from the enigmatic New York publisher Gordon Press. The Press appeared in 1973 and had already vanished by 1976 after reprinting this facsimile series of Crowley's early, pre-Magickal works in 1974. The red-leather volumes were issued in limited runs of under 200 and distributed through the mail. Operating at an apparent financial loss, the publisher's opaque operations and swift disappearance birthed a persistent rumor that the Press was a government-funded sting operation designed to ensnare occultists.
