CRUMB, Robert (1943-). Weirdo (17). San Francisco: Last Gasp, 1981-[1986]. 17 individual issues, comprising nos. 1-8, 9(2), 10-11, 13-16, and 18. 8vos. Original illustrated staple-bound wrappers. Founded by Crumb in 1981, Weirdo served as a countercultural showcase for "irreverent, outrageous, often politically-incorrect, and taboo-challenging" comix, featuring the first published works by artists like Dori Seda and Dennis Worden. Crumb contributed the cover art for every issue. The first nine issues, under his editorship, comprise the "Personal Confessions" era; the subsequent eight, under Peter Bagge, mark the "Coming of the Bad Boys" era; and at issue 18 editorship was passed to Kominsky-Crumb, who oversaw the "Twisted Sisters" era until the 28th and final issue in 1993.  Offered with a first edition of Crumb's book, The Yum Yum Book (1975) in jacket (price sticker on jacket flap, some rubbing, else fine).
