Condition
Some toning, rubbing, soiling to bindings, some light soiling, scuffing to endleaves, text with occasional thumbsoiling, a few gutters overopened, edges of text block foxed. Near fine. With "Postscript" in volume II. FIRST AMERICAN EDITION, SECOND PRINTING. [And:] The Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection... London: John Murray, 1875. 8vo. Fold-out chart. 458 pp. Publisher's full green cloth, boards ruled in blind, spine stamped in gilt, brown endleaves. Light rubbing, faint soiling to binding, hinges repaired, binder's ticket on rp., light rubbing to endleaves, a few gutters overopened, edges of text block foxed, skewed. Very good. SIXTH EDITION, FIFTEENTH THOUSAND. These volumes have some of the earliest mentions of the word "evolution."
