FIRST ILLUSTRATED EDITION. French physician Charles Dellon was traveling in India in 1673. During his travels, he was arrested by the Portuguese Inquisition, who tortured and imprisoned him for 2 years. His account was first published in 1687 but was published several times in the seventeenth century.
