Contemporary full calf, rebacked to style in modern brown calf, spine stamped in gilt in compartments, four raised bands (hinges repaired, title-page restored at the lower corner, text toned, occasionally soiled and foxed). Early edition. Although not a first edition, this edition seems to be the earliest to have been offered at auction. A rare anti-Catholic title by a prominent Puritan cleric.
