Dubourg tried to help Carroll get Alice on to the boards, but a full-fledged stage Alice did not come until Savile Clarke?s musical play materialized in 1886. Arthur Cecil Blunt, stage name Arthur Cecil, was a well-known actor that was admired by Carroll, so much so that Carroll suggested the idea of Cecil producing a drama based on Alice or Looking-Glass but it never transpired.
