DONG ZHENGYI. The Commune's Fish Pond. 1986. A 1986 printing of this very well-known poster, printed for overseas distribution with the title in English, French, and German, but not Chinese. The Commune's Fish Pond is one of the most famous Huxian peasant paintings. It was painted by Dong Zhengyi, a member of the suburban commune of Huxian County, Shanxi Province, and was first issued as a poster for the local market in 1973. Printed in the People's Republic of China. Linen backed. A- (two short tears restored on right side). 21 x 30 ?.
