DOUGLAS, Alfred, Lord (1870?1945). ?All?s Well with England? broadside. [1915]. 8vo (254 x 203 mm), creased. SIGNED BY DOUGLAS at end in the lower margin. FIRST EDITION of this sonnet fired off by Douglas in response to an account published in the London daily papers on 29 March 1915 ?of a presentation to Mr. Robert Ross, literary executor to the estate of the late Oscar Wilde. The presentation took the form of an address couched in flattering terms, and a purse containing several hundred sovereigns.? Provenance: from the collection of Herbert Boyce Satcher.
