FIRST EDITION OF THIS RARE SOUVENIR, CELEBRATING THE CENTENARY DINNER IN WHICH DOYLE AND HIS WIFE ATTENDED; SHORTER'S COPY WITH HIS BOOKPLATE. Shorter was the chairman for the celebration; the second page has a layout of the tables and where the attendees were seated - Doyle and Lady Doyle were at the head table. Doyle was a frequent visitor to Tussaud's museum at Baker Street, and the "Chamber of Horrors" fascinated him. The museum's location inspired Doyle to place Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson's rooms at 221b Baker Street.

Wrappers loose (yet present) some edgewear and toning to wrappers, text a bit toned, lower margins of first and final pages are lightly chipped. Good.
