[ENGRAVED PORTRAITS]. Group of 27 Portraits of Union Commanders. [New York: Johnson & Fry and Virtue & Co., ca. 1860s-1880s]. Engraved portraits on loose sheets. Sizes approximately 11 x 8? and some a bit smaller. Some general toning, rubbing, occasional chipping, one (General Meade) appears to have trimmed borders, some light foxing or soiling. Very good. Some artists featured include Thomas Nast, Alonzo Chappel, Mathew Brady. Commanding officers featured include George Meade, George McClellan, David Porter, John Logan, Ambrose Burnside, Winfield Scott, George Thomas, and more.
