Figural Music Automaton. Circa 19th century. French automaton with embroidered silk and velvet robe, embellished with beads and a lace cravat. Standing on a velvet upholstered box. The automaton holds a [snuff tobacco?] box and gestures to the box then up to its face while an internal music box plays a song. The snuff box is hinged (with one side detached) and may have previously opened and closed as part of the display. Converted (later) to electric with Leviton power switch cord, no key. 9 x 9 x 9?. Dust and dirt accumulation; fabric tattered in areas; one shoe buckle detached (but present). Tested, works.
