Life of Napoleon... London: The Grolier Society, [ca. 1900].  8vos. Illustrated throughout and with colored frontispieces, and facsimiles. 3 titles in 16 volumes, plus an additional volume, Napoleon Intime [privately printed, n. d.], for a total of 17 volumes. Contemporary three-quarter red levant morocco over marbled boards, spines tooled and lettered in gilt in compartments, four raised bands, marbled endleaves (Napoleon Intime in similar red leather binding).

Condition

Spines toned, worn, front board of volume I cracked, several hinges cracking, bindings generally edgeworn, some scuffing. Fair. EDITION DE LUXE, #700/1,000 COPIES. Napoleon Intime is an unknown edition. The individual titles are complete. Titles include: The Life of Napoleon by Hazlitt (6 volumes), Memoirs of Madame Junot [Duchesse d'Abrantes] (6 volumes), Memoirs of Napoleon by De Bourrienne (4 volumes), plus Napoleon Intime (anonymous author).
