Floating Ball. Hamburg: Bartl, 1930s. Metal sphere with gold plated finish that floats up from a wooden chest, all over the stage, then returns to its place of origin. Diameter approximately 6 ??, painted wooden chest 10 x 10 x 10?. Includes thread and ring gimmick in original Bartl mailing carton, addressed to the former owner, Richard Ritson (who performed as ?Wu Ling.?) Accompanied by a note in the hand of Dr. Dawes stating Ritson?s assertion that the ball was made for him by Okito. Ball shows wear from use.
