Camp?s innovations to the game included introducing the line of scrimmage and the downs system. He was a prolific sports writer, coach, and player. When this photo was taken, Camp was an athletics instructor at UC-Berkeley?s Government Aviation School. According to the Underwood slug, this was the first photograph of Camp in military uniform.
