Contemporary full burgundy levant gilt, raised bands, spine compartments with gilt?lettering and small tools gilt, all edges gilt, concealing a FORE?EDGE PAINTING BY MARTIN FROST of a Rococo design (pencil note dated 1986). (Tiny losses near head). Provenance: Presented by Gladys McKenney Molony to the Saint Mary?of?the?Woods College Library (inscription dated 11 November 1986 on front flyleaf), collector of fore?edge paintings; sold at the Robert Brown Auction in 2007 at the Saint?Mary?of?the?Woods College Library sale.
