Provenance: Lionel Downing (bookplate). LIMITED EDITION, number 482 of 500 copies. INSCRIBED BY THE AUTHOR TO LIONEL DOWNING on the half?title. [TIPPED?IN WITH:] a 3 pp. ALS from Bossch?re to Downing describing his difficulties with his editor at Fortune Press and getting copies of this book. He proposes a plan for Downing to acquire the books for him, promising him an inscribed copy (this one) for his troubles. [ALSO:] laid in with an autograph postcard signed by the author, and two postcards signed by the author?s assistant. A LOVELY ASSOCIATION COPY.
