Four Odd Fellows Encampment Banners. (I.O.O.F.). Circa 1900s. Each hand painted silk with ribbon trim, metallic fringe, and metal hanging rod. Featuring four of the six symbols taught in the Encampment Degree: The Patriarch's tent represents hospitality; the pilgrim's scrip, staff, and sandals are a reminder that life is a journey; the altar of incense shows duty to thank and praise God; and three pillars embody faith, hope, and charity. Generally worn and torn with paint creased and loss in areas. Three pillars banner with significant wear to silk, with tearing particularly at top and bottom. Each unrolled approximately 31 x 22 ? x 1".
