Fred Cowan ?The Great Stiletto? Knife Thrower Circus Puppet. Circa 1970s. Professional knife-throwing marionette outfit, consisting of a marionette puppet, sword basket, and throwing board. Marionette with plaster composition head, articulated mouth, wooden shoes, and bright polyester costume with ?Fred Conway Puppets? pinback. In performance, the puppet removes swords from the basket and hurls them one by one at a female assistant standing some distance away in front of the board, taking a bow between each throw. Fine vintage condition. Height of puppet 32?, board 38?.
