[213], [1, blank] pp. Bound in modern half green morocco over marbled boards, green gilt morocco lettering labels on spine, five raised bands, top edge gilt, marbled endleaves, wrappers bound-in (boards lightly bowed inward, a few text leaves or plates a bit toned). Fine. FIRST EDITION THUS, #48 OF 50 COPIES PRINTED ON V?LIN DE HOLLANDE VAN GELDER PAPER WITH A SUITE OF PLATES IN BLACK AND WHITE AND SEPIA AND WHITE, OUT OF A TOTAL EDITION OF 781. In this copy, the suite of black and white and sepia plates (suite illustrations are in two states) are bound into the text where the intertextual illustrations appear - so this copy is bound with 4to text pages, interlaced with 8vo suite plates.
